Mach 1 Media - Austin Web Design

About Mach 1 Media

Roger Glenn, the face behind Mach 1 Media

Roger Glenn, d.b.a. Mach 1 Media, has over twelve years experience building web sites. It all began with an internship at a budding Austin advertising agency.

"One of our clients needed a website and I wanted to help, but they hired a third party to do the web development. Frustrated, I bought a reference book and started making a personal website on my own."

And the rest is history...

After graduating with a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997, I entered the workforce selling computers for DELL while honing my web deveopment skills in my spare time. "Working at DELL was great, but I really wanted to make websites for a living."

I spent several years freelancing and eventually moved to El Paso in 2003 where I worked for Stanton Street Technology Group managing their Continuing Services department. "It was truly a 'jack-of-all-trades' job. After a new website launched, I handled anything and everything the client needed. I did everything, including:"

  1. simple HTML updates,
  2. Search Engine Optimization,
  3. MySQL database development,
  4. PHP programming,
  5. developed content management systems,
  6. forms design and processing,
  7. image manipulation,
  8. banner ad production,
  9. website template redesign,
  10. client meetings,
  11. and more!

Today, I'm glad to be back in Austin serving as the Director of Web Services for the Catholic Diocese of Austin. This is a great gig because I get to try new things, new techniques, new methods. The public site gets tons of traffic and is used by internal staff just as much, if not more, than the public.
